Respecting Our Environment
A continuing trend with paint, as with all design elements, is being
eco-friendly. New color trends and paint made from eco-conscious recourses
support that desire.
“We know that when trade professionals and their customers seek a sustainable
solution, they have a holistic view and want goods that are environmentally
responsible from the inside out,
” says Steve Revnew, director of marketing and product development for
Sherwin-Williams.
To meet the needs of these consumers, Sherwin-Williams has created two new color
trends for their Lifestyles Collection: Conscious Luxury and Local Momentum.
“In some cases, environmental awareness is becoming a status symbol,” says Jackie Jordan, director of color marketing for Sherwin-Williams. “Our Conscious Luxury Collection shows how being ‘green’ can translate into being chic.”
And being chic has never looked so good.
Sherwin-Williams’ Local Momentum takes its inspiration from
|
urban green rooftops and farmers’ markets with colors such as the cashmere-toned Wool Skein SW 6148 and Black Fox
SW 7020. Conscious Luxury makes an eco-friendly statement by reflecting
botanical hues that evoke exotic destinations, with shades such as Plummy SW
6558 and Constant Coral SW 6325.
Benjamin Moore is also committed to being eco-friendly with their new Colors for
Your Home Collection. The green-tinged Brookside Moss 2145-30 and Gossamer Blue
2123-40 evoke nature at its best while still maintaining a sophisticated spin.
Ultimately, of course, choosing the right color for the walls of our homes is a
personal decision that should be based on the overall design plan as well as
our unique personal tastes. Whether your taste leans more to the neutrals or to
something with a bit more splash, a new coat of paint is a good way to explore
your personal design style.
Happy decorating!
