Pack 548 Holds Annual Christmas Party - Boy Scout Pack 548 held its annual Christmas party at Kilpatrick Elementary.
Each Scout brought a donation for the care packages that were filled during the
party. To make the party a success, each den was responsible for creating a
booth that demonstrated a tradition from some other part of the world.
To add to the excitement, firefighters from Willowfork Fire Department brought
the fire truck, let the boys take a tour and answered questions.
The Taylor High School girls junior varsity golf team placed second at a
tournament held at Meadowbook Farms. (Back row) Meagan Way, Ashleigh Schap and
Emily Williams; (front row) Kristen Purser and Kirby Bosse. The team is coached
by Joe Gibbons and Cindy Lloyd.
Morton Ranch HS Book Club Discusses Twilight - The Morton Ranch High School Book Club met after school with teachers and
librarians to discuss
Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. Nine teachers and 48 students attended the book club
session, which consisted of book groups for students who had either read the
book and seen the movie, read all four books or just loved to talk about

Veteran’s Day Assembly at West Houston Charter School -West Houston Charter School of Katy held a Veteran’s Day Assembly to honor veterans as well as active military servicemen and
servicewomen. Parents, staff and the 325 students participated with the choir
singing patriotic songs, the art department doing a presentation of the nation
’s symbols, and the junior high dance team performing. The highlight of the
celebration was hearing from each of the 23 veterans in attendance about their
contributions to secure this nation
’s freedom. A Wall of Honor with pictures provided by the students supplied a
backdrop for the event. Veterans were honored with a special luncheon provided
by the fourth-grade classes.

WoodCreek Elementary Celebrates 50th Day of School in Style - WoodCreek Elementary celebrated the 50th day of school. Students, teachers and
administrators had fun dressing in
’50s attire and listening to ’50s music.
Hearts and Hands Helps Children Enjoy the Holidays - Children enjoyed a special visit with Santa at The Shoppes at Hearts and Hands
located on Mason Road. The store hosted HO HO HOlidays, which was a three-day
event. Children not only enjoyed a special visit with Santa but a complimentary
good quality photo that was e-mailed to the parents after the in-store visit.
Eggnog was served with other holiday treats, and live entertainment of
Christmas carolers and a children
’s choir entertained over the weekend. Discounts and door prizes were had by all.
Pattison students in third, fourth and fifth grade received Reflections Awards,
a statewide PTA event recognizing the arts. Students who were awarded a trophy
for their entry were: (front row) Reagan Smythe, Delon Shen; (middle row)

Morton Ranch FBLA Helps Santa Cops - The Morton Ranch chapter of FBLA participated in the Santa Cops program by
adopting two children, a boy and a girl.
FBLA officers Samantha Pitman, Enory Sanchez and Jill Powers went with sponsor Mitzi Poole to Target and shopped for everything on the children’s wish lists. Each child received clothing, toys and a selection of DVDs.
Sponsor Erin Segreto helped FBLA officers wrap the gifts and then delivered them to the police
station on Franz Road.
The chapter also participated in Santa Cops last year by adopting two children.
