Angie Neal, a Katy resident, has been named the new executive director for the Miss Teen Texas-World Pageant. This new pageant system promotes positive self-image, confidence, and poise among young ladies ages 13 to 19 years old around the state of Texas.
Neal will also develop the Miss Junior Teen Pageant to coincide with the Teen competition. This pageant will be for young girls ages 9 to13.
She has been in the pageant industry for more than eight years, competing while in high school and college. Using her dance background, she has been involved with artistic direction and stage productions of the United States-World and Teen World Pageants.

Heather Gould, a Katy resident and marketing director for Newland Communities in Houston, has won the 2009 Star Award for “Marketing Professional of the Year” from the Texas Association of Builders.
Held Oct. 30 in Dallas, the Star Awards included contestants from Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Gould directs marketing for the 7,600-acre Cinco Ranch community in Katy and the 2,018-acre Telfair community in Sugar Land. Both Cinco Ranch and Telfair were ranked among the top 10 communities in the nation for 2008 new-home sales in a study by RCLCO, a national real estate consulting firm.
“In a market where new-home sales are generally down, Cinco Ranch and Telfair have posted sales increases under Heather ’s marketing direction, and we are very pleased that the Texas Association of Builders has recognized her achievements, ” said Jennifer Taylor, vice president of marketing for Newland Communities.
Taylor added that Gould oversaw marketing for a new 2,400-acre phase of development that opened at Cinco Ranch last year, introducing a model home village with 31 models, a 76-acre  recreation complex and an
innovative storefront information center called Simply Cinco.
Gould also worked with the Houston Museum of Natural Science on the grand opening of its new Sugar Land branch, located in a historic Telfair building donated by Newland Communities.

Texas Children’s Pediatric Associates Cinco Ranch is using innovative design and new
technologies to improve patient experience.
Patients and families entering TCPA are greeted by an eight-foot wall displaying bright, cheerful moving images ranging from puppies to laughing children to teddy bears. Utilizing four 40-inch digital LCD monitors, the screens also flash healthy messages, and an interactive computer station with a Web cam invites children to pose for their own photos and, at the press of a button, become a part of the show.
Designed to relieve the anxiety and fear many children feel when visiting the doctor, this unique interactive photo wall creates a fun atmosphere and keeps children occupied and entertained while in the reception area. The photo wall also incorporates photos of the practices ’ doctors, nurses and staff wearing clown noses, funny hats, wigs and oversized glasses. These whimsical images help children see their medical team as friendly and approachable and makes their experience less intimidating.
The 7,799-square-foot practice, located at 24022 Cinco Village Center Dr., Suite 100, has 16 patient exam rooms and three pediatricians on staff, Dr. Helen Marie Haney, Dr. Razaali Razak and Dr. Afshan Dehlavi. The practice is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., and every other Saturday for urgent care only from 8:30-11 a.m.
