kira sushi hand pulled noodle show, A new food preparation show is happening three nights a week at Kira Sushi for the entertainment of diners. Kira ’s noodle expert, Wilson Wang, presents an exciting Hand Pulled Noodle Show using Dragon Beard Noodles. The show and Wang ’s talents are designed to impress audiences. barry sea paradox performs
The Barry Sea Paradox performs every Saturday from 8 p.m.-midnight at the Mercury Bar in Cinco Ranch. Mercury Bar is a martini jazz lounge with an emphasis on artisan beer and wines.
One of Texas’ hottest groups, the Barry Sea Paradox has a hit smooth jazz CD that’s received lots of radio airplay. The group features long-time Katy residents Barry and Bobbie Sea (Siegel). They ’ve appeared at many of Texas’ finest clubs playing music they describe as smooth jazz with a rough edge called soul.
The Mercury Bar is located at 22756 Westheimer Parkway, Ste. 190, between Mason Road and Grand Parkway in the Villagio Town Center.

holiday parade of homes
The 6th Annual Holiday Parade of Homes sponsored by the Cinco Ranch High School Cougars Stars will be held on Dec. 3-4 from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. See five area homes that are sure to dazzle and get you in the Christmas spirit.
Tickets are available through Cougar Star members or the following retailers: Beau Kisses, Hauerland, Juliegh Holley School of Dance and Ya Ya Club.

Infant Holy: A Musical Celebration of Life
This Christmas, you are invited to escape from the hectic business of the season and reflect on the miraculous birth of Christ while enjoying the soothing sounds of the harp and voice. Susanna Campbell and Ashley Lyons, harpists, and Joanne Bonasso, soprano, will present familiar strains of timeless carols such as Silent Night and What Child Is This to delight your senses; they will also introduce you to several beautiful lesser known carols. This special musical celebration will take place on Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the
sanctuary at Christ Church PCA, 3025 Katy Gaston Road, Katy. Tickets are $15 and may be reserved by calling 281-578-0078 or purchased at the door. All proceeds will benefit the Pregnancy Help Center of West Houston.

Be a Santa to a Senior
Be a Santa to a Senior begins its seventh season bringing holiday joy to seniors who may be socially isolated or financially in need. Through Dec. 4, shoppers can select ornaments from “Be a Santa to a Senior” trees located at locations such as Katy Area Chamber of Commerce, Carriage Inn, Sunrise Senior Living, CHRISTUS St. Catherine ’s Hospital and other sites throughout the area.  
Shoppers can then purchase wish list items and return them unwrapped to the tree location, along with the ornament affixed to the bag. Home Instead Senior Care enlists community volunteers to gather and wrap the gifts. For more information or to volunteer, call 832-379-4700.

Maud Marks Branch Library Events during december
The following free programs will take place at the library during December.
Storytime for preschool-aged children is held each Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. Stories, fingerplays and songs are featured. This is ideal for children ages 3 to 5, but all children and their caregivers are welcome.
Pat-a-Cake Club Infant Storytime meets each Thursday morning at 10:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. This is an interactive program for children ages 0 to 12 months and caregivers. Each session lasts about 20 minutes, featuring nursery rhymes, songs and finger plays.
Children 18 to 36 months are invited to participate in Totally Toddler Storytime on Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. and Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m.
Join the Afternoon Book Club on Dec. 10 at 1 p.m. The Evening Book Club will meet on Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. The Edible Book Club will meet on Dec. 16 at 1 p.m.
Free Internet Classes are available on Dec. 5 from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. and Dec. 1, Dec. 8, Dec. 15, Dec. 22 and Dec. 29 from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. Learn how to navigate your way around the World Wide Web and use successful search techniques. Registration is required for the Dec. 5 class.
Afternoon Art for ages 6-11 will be held on Dec. 2 and Dec. 9 at 4:30 p.m. These art programs normally last about one hour. All necessary materials are provided and no registration is required.
On Dec. 4, the Maud Marks Branch will be the drop off location for food donations in Channel 13 ’s annual “Share Your Holidays” Food Drive from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. at the entrance of the library. All food donated will be distributed by Katy Christian Ministries and benefit families in the Katy area.
Trying to figure out what to give to that technology forward person in your life? Try out the latest gadgets in reading and gaming technology before you buy them including the Kindle2, SonyReader, Ipod Touch, Ipod, MP3 and more on Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. Pre-registration is required.
Janet Montgomery, a representative from First Allied Securities, will provide tips on how to reduce your overall taxes for 2009 at a program on Dec. 10 at 6:30 p.m. Get end-of-year tax tips before it is too late. Seating is limited and registration is required.

“Bears & Blankets,” a drive benefiting the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program, continues throuth Dec. 11. New teddy bears and stuffed animals, along with new blankets and cold-weather wear is being collected for distribution to children and seniors in Harris and Fort Bend counties. The Cinco Ranch High School Theater Company will present Thoroughly Modern Millie, a musical by Richard Morris, from Feb. 4-6 in the Cinco Ranch Performing Arts Center.
Don’t miss this classic award-winning show about a naive young woman during the roaring ’20s who finds herself in the midst of a series of madcap adventures when she sets her sights on marrying her wealthy boss.
