The Barry Sea Paradox In Concert
Barry and Barbara (Bobbie) Sea (Siegel) are appearing with their group, The
Barry Sea Paradox, every Thursday and Saturday at two Post Oak Grill locations.
One of Texas
’ hottest groups, The Barry Sea Paradox has a hit CD that is played often on
KTSU-FM, KPVU-FM and Ronnie Renfrow
’s Classic Cool radio show on 650 AM. They’ve appeared at many of Texas’ finest clubs playing music they describe as “Smooth Jazz with a Rough Edge Called Soul.” It includes a wide variety of jazz, R&B, oldies, swing and even some country. It’s ideal for dancing, or you can just sit back, listen, and enjoy. The group has
appeared on Hometown Live on ABC affiliate Channel 13, Great Day Houston on CBS
affiliate Channel 11, and Fox Rocks on Channel 26. Performances are held on
Thursdays, 6 p.m.-10 p.m., Post Oak Grill Cafe (Midtown), 3017 Milam (just
north of Elgin); and Saturdays, 8 p.m.-midnight, Post Oak Grill, 1415 S. Post

The Katy, Texas Christian Women's Connection will host an Antiques Luncheon on
Feb. 19 from 11:15 a.m.-1 p.m. at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch, 23030 Cinco

what we have and what things are most popular right now. The speaker will be

The Threads of time quilt show
The West Houston Quilter’s Guild will host The Threads of Time Quilt Show on Feb. 20-21 at the Leonard
Merrell Center in Katy. Show hours on Friday are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and 9 a.m.-4
p.m. on Saturday.
Cost is $6; seniors 65+ $5.
This judged quilt show will feature 200 quilts, various vendors, lunch room,
door prizes, donation quilt, tin can raffle and quilt appraisal. A portion of
proceeds will benefit Katy Christian Ministries

Open Trails is an opportunity to enjoy a self-guided walk on one of KPC’s breezy, beautiful preserves on Feb. 1 and March 1 from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. at Warren
Ranch-Rock Hollow Creek and each Friday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the KPC Field
Office.
This winter you can you hike along a well-marked path listening for the honks of
wild geese sweeping towards the horizon, scan the golden-brown grasses for
darting grasshoppers, and, best of all, take in the calming sounds of an
inviting countryside only 45 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Houston.
Each guest is provided with an informative, full-color trail guide to add to
their journey of discovery and is encouraged to download a Trail Cast from the
Web site, which complements information found in the trail guide.
All participants should wear appropriate outdoor clothing, including closed-toe
shoes and long pants. A long-sleeve shirt is also recommended. Participants
should bring their own water and insect repellent.

heritage arts center celebrates valentine’s day, feb. 7
On Feb. 7 the Katy Heritage Arts Center will celebrate Valentine’s Day in the Stockdick Home at Katy Heritage Park.
Enjoy Katy musician and folk singer Michelle Mitchell singing her favorite
ballads on the porch. There will also be plenty of art with hearts.
Mondays with Mommy, feb. 9
LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch and the Katy Area Moxie Moms present “Mondays with Mommy,” a free series of events and activities for parents and preschoolers ages birth
to 5 years.
The 2009 Mondays with Mommy are held on the second Monday of each month from
10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch Heritage Square (central
courtyard).
The meetings feature a wide range of topics. All moms groups are welcome. While “Mommy” is in the title, dads, grandparents and guardians are welcome to attend.
Each Mondays with Mommy event includes a pay it forward opportunity, offering
parents and kids a chance to give back to the community.

The Cinco Ranch High School 3rd annual Princess Boutique will be held on March
6-7 in the main commons of the school.
Boutique items may be purchased on Friday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon. Proceeds benefit the 2009 CRHS Project Graduation.

Ties and Tiaras, a fundraiser for the Katy ISD KEYS Scholarship program
(formerly the KEYS Scholarship Dinner), will be held on Feb. 19 from 6 p.m.-8
p.m. at Agave Road, 1010 FM 1463 in Katy.
Five KEYS mentors will be honored for their years of service and dedication to
students. A student jazz band will perform while guests are treated to hors d
’oeuvres and beverages provided by Hasta La Pasta. From 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. guests
may bid on a beautiful collection of Katy ISD student artwork and gift baskets
during a silent auction.
Tickets are $25 per person in advance or $40 per person at the door. Price

graduating seniors.
KEYS (Keep Encouraging Youth toward Success) is an initiative for children on

It’s time for the “Rumble Under the Big Top,” Rylander Elementary’s annual fundraising silent and live auctions, on Friday, Feb. 20, from 6 p.m.-9
p.m.
During the live auction, the grown-ups will have fun bidding on items like an
Xbox 360, American Girl Doll Kit Kittredge package and a Wii game system and
accessory bundle. There will be carnival games with prizes for kids. They can
also play in the bounce houses and enjoy other exciting activities. Carnival
concessions from local vendors will also be available.
The halls will be lined with fabulous silent auction items like golf packages,

win the Class Baskets.
