Exchange clubs katy host bowl-a-rama fundraiser
The Greater Katy Exchange and Memorial Exchange Club announce the Exchange Club’s 3rd Annual Annual Bowl-A-Rama set for Jan. 17 from 6 p.m.-9:30 p.m. at Times
Square Entertainment, 402 W. Grand Parkway in Katy. The event will benefit the
Exchange Club charities and its programs of service in 2009.
The evening will include hours of food, bowling and bidding on fabulous prizes at the silent

cirque imagination presents montage
Cirque Imagination presents Montage at the Stafford Center Performing Arts Theatre from Jan. 7-11.
It is a grand show of circus daring and skill, starring former members of Cirque
du Soleil
’s Mystere, O, Sultimbanco, Alegria and Quidam. This production aims to defy the
perception of what is possible, fusing strength, flexibility and technical
skill, fostering an appreciation for the beauty and capabilities of the human
body.
The Roles of Home and school in developing giftedness lecture, jan. 8
Parents of gifted students of all ages are invited to attend an evening with Dr.
Joyce Juntune from Texas A
&M at College Station as she speaks about “The Roles of Home and School in Developing Giftedness—and How to Work Together” on Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. in the Commons of Cinco Ranch Junior High School.
Hosted by Katy Parents of Gifted and Talented Students, this lecture will
provide useful suggestions for parents and educators. Parents and teachers of
gifted children are often faced with unique challenges in meeting the gifted
child
’s special educational and social-emotional needs. This presentation will show
parents what they can do at home and how they can work with schools to guide
their children toward achieving their potential.
Admission is $5 at the door. Current KPGT members and Katy ISD employees (with a

The Blessed Life Bible Study, Jan. 9, 23 and Feb. 6, 20
Katy Aglow Community Lighthouse is offering The Blessed Life, a new four-
session series Bible study on financial freedom.

CrossPoint Community Church hosts DodgeBall leagues, beginning jan. 10
CrossPoint Community Church’s Sports Ministry program will host youth and adult DodgeBall leagues from Jan.
10 to Feb. 14.
League play will be held at 10 a.m. in the gym at the Westgreen Campus located
at 700 S. Westgreen Blvd. No experience is necessary
—if you can duck, you can play DodgeBall. Leagues are available for kids ages 5
and up and for adults. Cost is $60.
Mondays with Mommy, jan. 12
LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch and the Katy Area Moxie Moms present “Mondays with Mommy,” a free series of events and activities for parents and preschoolers ages birth
to 5 years old.
The 2009 Mondays with Mommy will be held on the second Monday of each month from
10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch Heritage Square (central
courtyard). Focus on Family Fitness presented by StrollerFit of Katy will be
the presentation at the Jan. 12 meeting.
The meetings will feature a wide range of topics. All moms groups are welcome.
While
“Mommy” is in the title, dads, grandparents and guardians are welcome to attend.
Each Mondays with Mommy event will include a pay it forward opportunity,
offering parents and kids a chance to give back to the community.
Events are free and open to the public. Mondays with Mommy will be held weather

titmouse club nature program, tuesdays and wednesdays
The Titmouse Club, a nature program for children between the ages of 2-5, is
offered on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at the Edith L. Moore
Nature Sanctuary, 440 Wilchester, by the Audubon Docent Guild.
The program features fun nature talks, stories, hands-on activities and walks in
the woods to encourage a knowledge and love of nature.
The cost is $4 per child, and the child must be accompanied by an adult during
the program.
mothers’ share group, thursdays
Mothers’ Share Group is a valuable support system for stay-at-home parents offering
programs relevant to mothering and family life. Weekly meetings throughout the
school year features interesting and informative speakers, creative crafts,
group service projects and other moms who really do understand. Childcare is
provided.
Mothers’ Share Group meets on Thursdays from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., following the KISD
schedule, at St. Peter
’s United Methodist Church, 20775 Kingsland Blvd. in Katy, Room E221. Everyone in
the community is welcome.
Pick, choose and $ave luncheon, jan. 15
The Katy, Texas Christian Women’s Connection will host the Pick, Choose and $ave Luncheon on Jan. 15 from 11:15
a.m.-1 p.m. at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch, 23030 Cinco Ranch Blvd.
Rob Conway, produce manager at H-E-B, will show how to save money on groceries
by choosing the freshest food and learn how to make it last. Starting the new
year on a fresh note will be Lori Etchison who will entertain everyone with her
beautiful voice. The speaker for this luncheon is Rebecca Fox, a Katy resident
who is well-known for making women laugh at their daily challenges. Rebecca
will discuss
“Life of Adventure...her dreams fulfilled.”

register for girl scouts
The Frogs Creek Service Unit is currently registering girls and adults for Girl
Scouts. The unit serves the following schools: Bear Creek, Mayde Creek, Rhoads,
Schmalz and Wolfe; and Cardiff and Mayde Creek junior high and Mayde Creek high
school.
