Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus
Invites Children to Share Their Dreams,  
deadline june 16
Area children are invited to share their dreams with Texas Children’s Hospital and be part of the “Dream Tree.” A colorful ribbon representing each child’s dream will be displayed on a tree raised to the top of the West Campus in a ceremony celebrating the completion of its first construction milestone.
Six children will be selected at random to participate in the Dream Tree ceremony. All qualifying dreams will be displayed on the Texas Children ’s Web site.

grand lakes presbyterian church vacation bible school, june 14-18
Grand Lakes Presbyterian Church, located at the corner of Peek and Fry Road, will hold its Vacation Bible School from June 14-18 from 6 p.m.-8:30 p.m. The registration deadline is June 7. Registration forms are available at www.grandlakespc.org or at the church office.

classic chevrolet grand opening events
Classic Chevrolet in Sugar Land will hold its grand opening on June 12-13. A ribbon cutting ceremony and blood drive will be held on Friday from 2 p.m.-6:30 p.m. A classic car show from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday will feature automobiles from the 1960s and 1970s. Awards for various categories will be held at 2 p.m. Enjoy fun and games for the family including a bounce house and face painting. Food and music will be provided, and the all new 2010 Chevy Camaro will be introduced.

Katy ISD Junior High Band Camp, july 20-24
The seventh annual summer band camp, offered to next year’s 7th-, 8th- and 9th-grade Katy ISD band students, will be held at Cinco Ranch Junior High School from July 20-24. The camp will include daily section rehearsals and full band rehearsals from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m.  
Fun music-based electives will be added into the week. The cost of the camp is $100, if received by June 5. Late registration is an additional $25.
Camp concludes with the Grand Concert on Friday at 9 a.m. After the concert, those students wishing to extend the fun a little longer can join in the group ’s optional trip to Splashtown Water Park in Spring for an additional $30 (park admission, meal, bus transportation and drinks are included in price) for a total camp cost of $130 or $155 after June 5.
Camp participants will audition for summer band camp placement the first day of camp, beginning at 8 a.m. Students should prepare three major scales specific to the student ’s instrument, as well as a band camp audition etude. Students will be ability grouped with the number of bands being determined by total enrollment for the camp.

Peter Pan
KVPAC will hold its summer production of Peter Pan on June 26 at 7 p.m. and June 27 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center, 2501 Mason Road.
The classic play begins in the London nursery of Wendy, John and Michael Darling, where the three children are visited by Peter Pan, the boy who refuses to grow up. With the help of his tiny friend, Tinkerbell, Peter takes the three children on a magical flight to Never Land.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets can be purchased online at www.KVPAC.org.
