Firethorne volunteers conducted their first clean-up duty, and TXDOT erected the

KVPAC Joins Welcome Party for Mayor Parker. The Houston Arts Alliance hosted an arts reception honoring Mayor Annise D. Parker at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts downtown. Houston’s elite art community was fully represented along with the Katy Visual & Performing Arts Center.
“It was an excellent opportunity for KVPAC to be recognized as a fellow member of
the arts community and we were honored with the invitation to attend the
welcoming of Mayor Parker,
” said Lisa Connolly. “She gave a terrific speech about how the arts are ‘good for business’ and she is right. A thriving art culture in any city boosts tourism and
encourages businesses to make their home here.
