Katy Go Texan

The Katy branch of the Houston Metro Go Texan Committee hosted Sparkles and Spurs, a dinner, dance and auction, on Saturday, Jan. 31, at The Tuscany Villa, 3330 FM1463.

Proceeds will benefit the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo scholarship program. In 2008, $150,000 in scholarships were awarded to Katy ISD students. Dinner for the evening was provided by Outback Steakhouse with dessert from The Original Marini ’s Empanada House. Live music from Al White and the Chaparral Band was featured.

Superball

The Southwestern Branch of the American Red Cross hosted its ninth annual fundraiser Super Ball VIII on Saturday, Jan. 23. CHRISTUS St. Catherine sponsored a table and invited some Katy folks to enjoy the event. Super Ball IX is about fun —it’s a casual, tailgate party traditionally held the weekend before the Super Ball at Safari Texas Ranch in Richmond. The event featured a super size tailgate buffet, complimentary beer and wine, live and silent auctions, sports games, sports celebrities and a dance.
