The Pin Oak Charity Horse Show, the country’s oldest and most prestigious horse competition, will celebrate its 64th year
with its show at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy from March
18-29. BBVA Compass will return as the lead sponsor.
The Pin Oak Charity Horse Show is held over a two-week period and features a
wide array of equestrian talent featuring hunters and jumpers, American
Saddlebreds, Andalusians, Welsh ponies, and new for 2009, Dressage and the
United Mountain Horse breed.
No tickets are required Tuesdays-Saturdays. Tickets are required for both Saturday, March 21 and Saturday, March 28, at 6
p.m. General admission tickets are $10 for adults; children 12 and under are
free. Sponsorship opportunities are available for the Gala dining

katy texas christian women’s connection fashion luncheon, march 26
The Katy, Texas Christian Women’s Connection will hold a fashion luncheon on March 26 from 11:15 a.m.-1 p.m. at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch, 23030 Cinco
Ranch Blvd.
There will be a spring accessory fashion show with the newest styles. Rosemary
Nelson from The Cottage Door will share with handbags, shoes, jewelry and more.
Debra A. Hill will be on hand to sing and Dorothy Stall, a successful realtor
and entrepreneur, will be the featured speaker. Her talk
“ I Can’t Do it Myself” will talk about how she couldn’t always do it herself.

relay for life, march 27-28
Relay For Life, a benefit walk and the largest fund raising event for the
American Cancer Society, is set for 7 p.m. on March 27 and will end at 7 a.m.
on March 28.
The relay brings together the community to celebrate the life of cancer
survivors, to remember those lost and to raise money for research. It is an
overnight experience that you will never forget.
Teams of eight-15 participants seek contributions prior to the relay. At the
event, they gather with tents and sleeping bags to camp out at the VFW Park in
Katy and take turns walking around the track. Each team has a representative on
the track throughout the night, as a reminder that cancer never sleeps.

Cimarron Elementary School will hold its annual Spring Carnival and Craft Fair

March 7 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m at the school, 1100 S. Peek Road in Katy.
Enjoy food, games and prizes, karaoke, petting zoo, rides, inflatables,
entertainment, shopping and silent and live auctions.
All proceeds will help provide educational resources and equipment for the

Top soccer, beginning march 29
Crosspoint Community Church will begin another season of TOP Soccer, a
one-of-a-kind sports program for children with special needs beginning March
29.
Players are assigned a volunteer “buddy” to help them navigate the field, while parents, friends and relatives cheer
them on. Games are played at CrossPoint Community Church
’s athletic fields, located at 700 S. Westgreen Blvd., with a final awards
luncheon for the players and their families at the end of the season.

The Job of a Lifetime workshop will be held on March 31 at 7 p.m. at the West
Memorial Elementary Campus, 22605 Provincial Road.
This workshop is open to the public and will provide extensive knowledge of
child development. Whether you are just starting out with a toddler or are
negotiating the teen years, this workshop will review the tools of the trade
parents need to help children reach their full adult potential. Setting clear
expectations and limits, positive reinforcement and natural or logical
consequences are some of the tools used to shape children's behavior and teach
