Pack 239 Performs Service Project - Cub Scouts and their parents from Pack 239 participated in a community service
project. The Scouts pulled weeds, cleaned out flower beds, pruned back bushes,
picked up trash and cleaned out the closets at Cornerstone Evangelical
Presbyterian Church.
Mayde Creek HS French lll PreAP Attend Luncheon - Mayde Creek High School French III PreAP students attended the Houston World
Affairs Council luncheon. The foreign language lunch symposium strives to
reward students for their efforts in learning a second language.

Lauren Burris Named WoodCreek JH Teacher of the Year - WoodCreek Junior High choirs presented their UIl and Katy Choral Festival
Contest Concert. Performances were given by the TimberWolf Tenor choir,
Combined Beginning choirs, TimberWolf Treble choir, WoodCreek Men
’s choir, WoodCreek Women’s choir and the WolfPack singers. Recognition was given to the students who
competed individually, in small ensembles and in large ensembles at Memorial
Parkway Junior High.
Additionally, there was a surprise announcement during the concert. Principal Patti Shafer announced that WCJH choir director Lauren Burris was selected as WCJH’s first Teacher of the Year.
Lauren Burris was named WoodCreek Junior High’s first Teacher of the Year.

Pack 548’s Webelo 2 Scouts graduate to Boy Scouts during a bridging ceremony.
Cub Scout Pack 548 Webelo 2 Hosts Graduation Ceremony - Pack 548 celebrated the graduation of its Webelo 2 Scouts. To celebrate, the Scouts and their families had a barbecue dinner served by
Spring Creek BBQ.
During the dinner, cakes made by the Scouts and their dads prior to the event
(no moms allowed) were judged and received awards. Cake designs ranged from
camp sites, military appreciation, camp fires, snakes and much more, with
awards given in five categories. The award-winning cakes were auctioned off to
the highest bidder and proceeds benefited Pack 548.
After eating, the bridging ceremony for the Cub Scouts to become Boy Scouts was
observed. Scout Leader
Allen Barrilleaux was also recognized for his service to the troop.
Ryan Reed, Sean Payne, Eric Ropka, patrol leader, Chris Wilson and Kirby Rogers
from Troop 925 earn first-place honors in fire building.
Troop 925 Duct Tape Patrol Takes First Place in Fire Building - The Duct Tape Patrol took first-place honors in Fire Building at the Texas Skies Camp-O-Ree at Camp Brozig in Sealy. The patrol also won a
first-place ribbon in the First Class Emphasis program.
The First Class Emphasis program consisted of skills and competitions involving
first aid, knots and lashings, fire building, team building, camp site
preparation and cooking.
The Taylor Pacesetters visited Universal Studios.
Taylor Pacesetters Attend Master Dance Audition Class - The Taylor High School Pacesetters recently returned from a trip to California
where they participated in a master dance audition class at DisneyLand
Performing Arts Center, as well as master classes in hip/hop and jazz at
Millenium Dance Complex.
The girls also enjoyed Hollywood, Santa Monica, Universal Studios, DisneyLand
and touring Beverly Hills.
