Nurses at CHRISTUS St. Catherine Hospital are being honored with The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. The award, presented in collaboration with The American Organization of Nurse Executives, is part of the DAISY Foundation ’s program to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform everyday.

The first award recipient is Mike Evenbly, registered nurse at CHRISTUS St. Catherine Hospital. Mike was nominated by his peers as well as by a patient ’s family. In addition to taking care of the patient’s physical needs, Mike gave spiritual and emotional support to a woman who had been battered, coming from an extremely stressful home situation. He provided community resources and stayed close by to ensure the patient ’s total needs were addressed. “The patient was grateful for the support and care.” Another patient’s family said Mike “took the time to explain each step of the way for my wife. He was caring and professional. ”

The Gallas Plastic Surgery and Vein Center celebrated the grand opening of its newly constructed 7,000-square-foot facility with more than 200 guests in attendance.

The Gallas Center offers a full spectrum of cosmetic surgical and non-surgical services, including the latest minimally invasive procedures, to cater to the diverse needs of the Katy community and greater-Houston areas.
