In October Kroger unveiled its first Marketplace store in Texas at Waterside at
the Grand Parkway and Mason Road. The first of three Texas locations, this
125,000-square-foot Marketplace is certain to surprise and delight shoppers
with not only all the amenities of a traditional Kroger, but also additional
offerings to complete a one-of-a-kind shopping experience. Marketplace is a
destination where shoppers can pick up a tennis bracelet for mom, a recliner
for dad, a Leap Frog for the kids as well as meat, milk and much more.
“The new Kroger Marketplace is a destination shopping experience whether you live
near or far from the store location,
” says Bill Breetz, president of the Kroger Southwest Division. “Through the opening of this Marketplace, we’re not only providing quality products at affordable prices with tremendous
variety to our shoppers, but we are also bringing 350-plus jobs to the Houston
area.
”
The store offers features unique to a Kroger Signature store along with an
expanded variety of grocery and deli products, larger floral selection, fuel
center, gourmet and chef-prepared foods, linens for the bathroom and kitchen,
toys and much more. A Fred Meyer Jewelers store, a large home furnishings
section with Ashley Brand furniture, and a Little Clinic for affordable
healthcare will round off the Marketplace experience for shoppers.
