Mayde Creek Homecoming Court - The 2009-10 Mayde Creek High School homecoming court members are: Andrew Mowrey, Kayrah Jack, Tanner Campbell, Robby Clancy, Cody Portales, Johnathan Luna, Mahogany Kankam, Tori Blanchard, Kristina Ireland and Margo Portales.

Girl Scouts Participate in Bowling League- The Prairie Rose/Cane Island Girl Scout Service Units held the Rock and Bowl
bowling league at Times Square Entertainment. The Scouts had a blast getting to
know other Girl Scouts and mingling with old friends.
Savannah Wright, 5, took second-place honors in the 6 and under age division.
Falcon Ranch Holds First Annual Kids’ Triathlon - Falcon Ranch held its first annual Kids’ Triathlon. The kids competed in swimming, bicycling and running. The distance
depended on their ages. Every age participated ranging from 17 years to
children riding their bikes with training wheels. Every child earned a medal to
commemorate their participation in the race.
West Memorial Junior High Meet the Coaches Annual Event - West Memorial Junior High held its annual Meet the Coaches event. The coaches
introduced themselves and welcomed the new players and their families to the
athletic program. Parents and players were encouraged to ask any questions.
There was also a silent auction featuring Katy Tigers memorabilia, restaurant
gift cards and other merchandise.
Rylander Elementary Recruits Scouts at Meet the Teacher - Cub Scout Pack 542 actively recruited Scouts at Rylander Elementary’s annual Meet the Teacher Night. Scouts had trophies, awards and pictures, and
were available to speak with prospective Scouts.

Mural Dedication at Roosevelt Alexander Elementary - In May 2009, families and staff at Roosevelt Alexander Elementary donated
funds to purchase more resource books and materials for the literacy library.
Donors had their names painted within the new mural outside of the
“Curriculum Café”or Literacy Library.
The mural was a dedicated to the memory of RAE’s dear friend and owner of the Learning Express Ron Kerr. The mural was designed, painted and imagined by A Trace of Art.
Seven Lakes Future Business Leaders of America attend National Leadership
Conference.
Seven Lakes FBLA Places at Nationals - Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, the largest and oldest
student business organization, held its National Leadership Conference at
Anaheim Convention Center. Several conference participants from Seven Lakes
High School won prizes and special honors.
Shannon Cheng won first place in the Introduction to Parliamentary Procedures event, Xavier Beynon and Daniel Hidalgo won fourth place as the E-Business team, and Jared Mortus won seventh place in the FBLA Principles and Procedures competition.
Seven Lakes High School is now the second largest chapter in the Mountain Plains
Region with 240 members. The group also won the Outstanding Chapter and the
Gold Seal Chapter award.
Brennan Foo was elected one of nine national officers. He will serve as the Mountain Plains
Region vice president.
Members attended workshops, opening and closing ceremonies, participated in the
March of Dimes and campaigned for Brennan. They also visited Disneyland,
Hollywood and the Walk of Fame.
Members who attended the convention are Danny Nyugen, Xavier Beynon, Daniel Hidalgo, Paola Barbieri, Mary Yang, Brittney Valdez, Larry Tran, David Polson, Amy Wang, Maanul Shrivastav, Shannon Cheng and Brennan Foo.
